Four easy steps to get your myWatt up and running.

Your myWatt unit will have come with a cable to connect it to your inverter. This cable must be plugged into the socket marked "serial" on the back of the myWatt unit, as shown in the picture to the right.

and ready to refasten the access ring.

WARNING!
Installation requires removal of the inverter's front panel and there are dangerous voltages inside.
We recommend you engage a licensed electrician to undertake this work.

  1. Remove the faceplate off the inverter.
  2. Unscrew the protective ring allowing entry to the base of the inverter and remove the grommet which contains two rubber plugs; remove one of the plugs.
  3. Push the grommet around the cable, thread the cable through the ring and then into the base of the inverter.
  4. Plug the cable into either of the RS-485 connectors.
  5. Push the ring up against the inverter and screw it back into place, taking care to keep the grommet inside the ring so that it forms a waterproof shield.
  6. Replace the inverter faceplate.

This cable also supplies power to the unit, so no other power source is needed.

It takes myWatt about one minute from power-up to being ready, at which time the myWatt unit's screen will look like the picture in Step 2 (below).
